Newaygo County Agricultural Fair Dairy Clinic

The Dairy Committee at the Newaygo County Fair is holding an educational dairy clinic for youth and their parents featuring showing, fitting, and judging dairy cattle. The clinic is intended for youth ages 5 thru 19, and their parents, with interest in showing dairy cattle. Kids 5-8 must be accompanied by an adult.

The clinic will be held in the large animal show barn at the fairgrounds on Saturday, May 5th. Check-in starts at 9:30 A.M., sessions will begin promptly at 10, and will convene at 1 P.M. We will be covering dairy showmanship, judging, and clipping. There will be a learning session for each topic, competitions to practice what was learned followed by lunch (lunch provided) and results of the competitions. Kids will be divided into age groups for the day.

Registration fee is $10 per person with $30 max per family to hold your spot. Fees will be returned upon attendance of the clinic. Registrations and payment are due by April 13th to the fair office. Registration forms can be picked up from the blue box outside the fair office or found online at newaygocountyfair.org under “forms”.

Questions? Please contact Louanne Purdy with any questions about the clinic at 231-349-1946.
